Catherine Comardelle, MT-BC, NMT
Hello! I am a board certified music therapist and a Louisiana native, currently living in the New Orleans area. I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans in 2018 with my bachelors degree in music therapy and then completed my music therapy internship at the Ann Storck Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL. During my internship, I worked with individuals ages 2 - 65 years old diagnosed with a wide range of developmental and intellectual disabilities
Upon returning to New Orleans and passing the board certification exam, I began working as a music therapist at several nursing home and assisted living facilities with seniors, many of whom were diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. I worked as a full-time music therapist for Notre Dame Health System and then transitioned into a new role as activities director.
When I began my journey into self-employment in 2022, I taught guitar, piano, and voice to over 20 students at Lakeview Academy of Music, and I worked as a supervisor for the music therapy program at Loyola. I currently work as a music teacher for the Little Hearts program at the Academy of the Sacred Heart. I sing professionally at Holy Name of Jesus Church and am enrolled in an online graduate program at Colorado State University to earn my master of music therapy.
I completed training in Neurologic Music Therapy® in March 2023 and I am now able to use NMT® in my practice.
As a freelance music therapist, I have the flexibility to add more contracts to my schedule in the greater New Orleans area.. I am also available to present about music therapy at conferences and schools, and I can facilitate workplace education on music therapy. Please feel free to reach out if you, someone you know, or your facility/company could use my services!
