Catherine Comardelle, MT-BC, NMT
Hello! I am a board certified music therapist and a Louisiana native, currently living in the New Orleans area. I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans in 2018 with my bachelors degree in music therapy and then completed my music therapy internship at the Ann Storck Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL. During my internship, I worked with individuals ages 2 - 65 years old diagnosed with a wide range of developmental and intellectual disabilities
Upon returning to New Orleans and passing the board certification exam, I began working as a music therapist at several nursing home and assisted living facilities with seniors, many of whom were diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. I worked as a full-time music therapist for Notre Dame Health System and then transitioned into a new role as activities director.
In September 2022, I began my journey into self-employment. I currently teach guitar, piano, and voice to over 20 students at Lakeview Academy of Music. I work as a supervisor for the music therapy program at my alma mater, allowing current music therapy students to observe and then practice facilitating music therapy sessions while I provide support and feedback. I also sing professionally at Holy Name of Jesus Church.
I completed training in Neurologic Music Therapy® in March 2023 and I am now able to use NMT® in my practice.
As a freelance music therapist, I have the flexiblity to add more contracts to my schedule. Please feel free to reach out if you, someone you know, or your facility/company could use my services!
